Jon:Intro
The ship shuttered. Must be decelerating from light speed. Michael let out a sigh of relief. It had been a 2 days journey to get to Couresant, as well as the Jedi Temple. His heart leaped at the thought of finally becoming a Jedi, another two for finally getting off this ship. He had just enough money to get the lowest class of transport to Couresant, a run down supply ship. He had noticed a few questionable characters amongst the ship, smugglers no doubt. They weren't his problem to deal with...not yet anyway. However there was one character on the ship that made him...curious.
"Attention." a droids voice came over the speakers, interupting his train of thought. "We will be arriving to Couresant, Airport 15, in 15 minutes.
"Finally," Michael grabbed his gear and moved toward the ships exit.
Jaden sat in a steel seat next to the ship exit, slouching over his arms. He hadn't moved from that spot much at all save to eat and relieve himself, technically he had slept in that seat. He was far off in thought, thinking about what he was in for, resuming his jedi duties, consulting Master Drasoft,...Josu...
Jaden sensed...suprise from someone. Emanating from that same character was...shock, aww, a hint of fear...
Jaden looked up accross from him, sitting at the other end of the exit corridor was that same kid who had been observing him the whole trip. The kids facial expression matched what Jaden had sensed. He observed the young man; he looked about 18, maybe a few years shorter of Jaden's age. He was dressed in regular fashion for kids his age. Jaden understood his caution with all who had been present on the ship. Though, he wouldn't have to worry about him any more soon. The ship rumbled and came to a light jolt. A green light glowed above the entrance and the doors parted, letting the light of day flood into the ship. Jaden stood and took a deep breath as he was yet again in the luke warm polluted air of Coresant.
Joanna:The soft click of boots resounded above the soft murmur of voices as Josu Vate paced in front of one of the many automatic doors lining the walls of the new Jedi Academy. Patience, the one thing the elder Jedi emphasized, was the one thing the 5 foot 4 padawan did not have much of. Master Drasoft had pointed this out on many occasion and had revealed her distaste to this trait. "Impatience can lead you to the dark-side, youngling. I would work on that if I were you." Josu let out a sigh, perhaps Master Drasoft was right. Maybe she should relax more often. Josu stopped her pacing and decided to lean against the wall next to the door. Her head fell forward as she attempted to relax, red-brown hair falling in front of her emerald eyes. Today Josu found out who her partners were. Generally a team of three.
Master Malin Drasoft was pacing on a balcony jutting out from the new Jedi Temple having a discusion with her former Padawan, and still good friend, Tallia Menoto. The two had met before before the Empire was overthrown, and before her previous padawan had disappeared. Tallia was talented, having been able to make a lightsaber with only the remains of a flashlight and mischelanious items. Tallia had fixed most of the kinks in her lightsaber by now, but she refused to make a correct lightsaber. That choice resultes in a saber that now sparks at unexpected intervals.
"I don't know if I like that combination, Master." Tallia was leaning against the railing that alowd one to overlook the sprawling city below. Malin stopped her pacing, sighed, and closed her eyes, rubing her forhead with the palm of her hand. "I don't either, Tallia, but the council has decided. I can't change their mind." " But, didn't they feel the tension between them? They can't just ignore that! Didn't you say that-" "Yes, thoughs feelings all but whiped Jedi from the face of the Galaxy once before, but one example can't make it set in stone that Jedi shouldn't feel anything. Plenty have fallen to the dark-side before." "Like Jaden." Malin could feel Tallia's eyes on her as she crossed the balcony to lean on the rail with Tallia. "Yes, like Jaden."
Jon:Michael's mind was split in two as his taxi flew towards his new home. He was overjoyed to finally being on the path to being a jedi, however, that man on the ship, something felt...different when he was around. Michael was no coward, yet he felt fear from the immense power he had sensed from him. Though he hadn't any training as a jedi, Michael had the gift to sense a persons emotion as well as their will. A gift that helped him get discovered by the new Jedi order and invited to join them. The temple came into view and his thoughts of the mystery man had been pushed back from his thoughts, but not to far. The Temple was a massive structure and seemed to outshine the other structures around. The taxi landed at the head of the temple and Michael grabbed his bag. "How much do I owe you." he said to the Taxi driver. The overweight man with an uncut beard and an unwelcoming smell turned to face Michael. "...Free." Michael's eyes widened. "Really?" The driver gave a short chuckle, "Damn right, anything for a future Jedi." Michael thanked the man and nearly dashed out of his seat and up the stairs of the entrance. He passed who appeared to be Jedi, taking time to say hi to each one who didn't seem in to much of a hurry. Michael moved to the entrance and inside was a long outer hall decorated with light and large stone statues of once great Jedi. One sat in the middle in meditation. Michael read the name below, "Master Yoda". Michael smiled and pulled out a piece of paper and read it. "Your Master will be awaiting you at Main Entrance." He looked further down the hall passed the people moving around and eyed the entrance to the building. His heart leaped as he approached it. 3 feet from the door, the automatic doors parted instantly and as he entered, he set eyes on who he thought was to be his Master and felt his heart skip even faster. Michael smiled at the beautiful girl with red brown hair, and as her Padawan, he hoped to get aquainted with her.
Jaden had taxied to storage facility 3 of Couresant, which was a massive warehouse at least 150 stories, storing the belongings of those who resided in the North Western Hemisphere of Couresant. Master Drasoft had told him to collect the items from a crate before returning to the Jedi Temple. Taking the elevator to the 59th floor, he now stood in front of an access panel trying to find where his stuff was. Behind him sat a massive library of storage units containing whatever it was people had decided to store there. Jaden typed in the crate the items in question were stored, "Crate 62384 ENTER" A small animated jawa looking through garbage appeared in the center of the screen to indicate it was searching. Jaden waited for a second...a minute. BLEEP! NOT FOUND. Jaden reentered his name and came up with the same results. Jaden grunted in frustration. At the side of the panel a small droid head popped out and placed himself in front of Jaden. "Greetings, you appear to be having problems finding your belongings, can I help you?" "Can you tell me find find the crate 62384?" "Certainly, one moment...Ahhh yes, here we are," the crates # popped up on screen. "Oh I see your problem, that crate was moved to the basement of this facility, if you would please return to the elevator..." Jaden stepped back into the elevator. As the doors hissed shut, the elevator rapidly desended the facility. Jaden watched the level number drop to 30...10....and began to slow down, by then the number was decreasing past zero...-4...and then stopped at -7. The door opened up to a room pitch black. "Apologies," the droids voice echoed throughout the dark room. "Let me get the lights," as soon as he said it, the room had lit up, blinding Jaden for only a moment he then saw a room perhaps a 10th the size of the one he was just in and like it, there were storage crates, except these were more spaced out and weren't stacked on top of one another. The droid then announced, "The crate you are looking for is the 2 rows down 5 crates over, do you have the key." Jaded reached in his belt pouch and pulled out the key card Master Drasoft had sent him. As he arrived at his crate he asked the droid, "Why was it moved down here?" The droids voice echoed through the room, "Well, its policy that when the owner of a crate has...well...deseased...they are moved from the main storage to make room for the crates with...eh...living owners. Speaking of which...I apologize for your loss." Jaden remained quiet as the crate doors unlocked and swayed open. Lights inside flickered on revealing a sharp/smooth featured speeder bike, along with a number of smaller storage crates and cabinets. Jaden opened them up, pulling out the items he was sent to recover. "I take it he left you in his will?" Jaden grabbed the keys to the speeder bike. "Could you take us up so I can leave?" The droid acknowledged and the doors to the crate closed. Jaden felt the crate being transfered to another elevator and soon rise to the surface. The doors soon opened again now in the open grounds of the warehouse and Jaden straddled the bike and hit the ignition. The bike roared to life, but as Jaden was about to leave, another head for the droid assisting him popped out of the wall and cut him off. "Before you can leave, I need your name for the records. Forgive me, its protocol." "Jaden Dastrok." The droids "eyes" blinked 3 times before replying. "We do not take kindly to jokes sir, tell me your name." Jaden frowned, "Like I said, Jaden Dastrok." Annoyed, the droid began to get impatient, "SIR! Jaden Dastrok is the OWNER of this crate, the OWNER of this crate is DEAD, YOU are NOT DEAD, and according to this photo of the REAL JADEN DASTROK, you will see that YOU and HE are..." The droid stopped, flustered. Jaden sped past the droid and out into the sky towards the Jedi Temple. "Thats right, I'm dead." He muttered to himself.
Joanna: A tremor, much like that of an unsuspecting heart, caught Josu's attention. Young men were generally shocked by her appearence. Okay, so her chossen attire wasn't the most conservative ever, but at least when she was in battle and not wearing her cloak, her cloths didn't get in the way. Josu looked down the hall to whom she presumed to be her new padawan and grinned warmly before bowing, "Good afternoon, Padawan." the red-head stood back to her full height before continuing, "My name is Josu Vate."
Jon: Josu Vate, a nice name for a lovely lady. She looks my age thought Michael. Michael blushed as he realized he had been staring at her a little much. "My name is Michael Papho." Michael bowed as she had, and then gestured her with a bright smile.
Joanna:He was nice, she gave him that. Michael was also polite, if she didn't notice how long he was staring. "Lesson one, Michael, it is impolite to stare."
Tallia and malin had begun to walk down the hall, all the while, Tallia was ranting about the pairing the council had decided upon and Malin tried, rather unsuccessfully, to calm the frustrated zabrak. Tallia's short attention span came in handy at that moment, distracted by Josu talking to a young man, about her age. She jogged up to them and as soon as Josu was done talking, Tallia cut in jovially, "So, you're Malin's new padawan." It was clearly a statement set to clear up uncertainty.
Josu sighed and countered, "Why can't you tell me the name of my padawan yet, Master Menoto?"
Tallia just smiled and waited while Malin walked calmly up to the group. "We acctually didn't fully decide untill this morning. Your padawan should acctually be here soon." Malin smiled warmly at Michael and continued, "You are Michael Papho I presume? I am sorry for the mix-up and for being late. When this Zabrak is frusterated," she motioned to Tallia who smiled and waved, "it is hard to get her to do anything other then what she wants to do."
Jon:Michael felt his heart sink and rise, this Josu wasn't his Master, however that got rid of the no dating your master rule there was sure to be. He looked at Master Malin, his REAL master. She was quite a stunning jedi herself, along with that she gave off a rather pure, innocent aura around her. She would be the perfect master to teach him to be a true Jedi. Michael looked back at Josu, who looked rather confused, apparently still unaware to who her padawan really was.
Jaden had parked his Speeder Bike in the Temples Shuttle Hanger. It was quiet, save the few droids repairing and maintaining the shuttles belonging to other Jedi. As he surveyed the other shuttles, one caught his eye, the Shuttle belonging to Josu. It was an older model craft, agile, fast, built like a tank, but the damn thing always gave her problems. He wondered how he and Drake ever thought it would please her for her 20th birthday. He stopped at the mention of his name, brought up memories... Jaden reached in his robe and pulled out a small flask, quickly popped the top and drained the bitter contents. The effects and taste banished his last thoughts. He then proceeded to the Main Hall, where Master Malin had said she would meet her.
Joanna:If Tallia could move her ears, they'ld have lifted at feeling someone familiar, "Well, speak of the devil." Mild distaste crossed the tattooed face of the Zabrak briefly before being wiped away be the years of Malin's Teachings.
Josu felt it too. Every living being gave off differant vibes through the force and what she felt was too familiar and yet, differant. The red-head turned to look down the hall and was met with a familiar face, "Jaden..." The name barely escaped her lips louder then a whisper before she turned to Malin.
"Master Drasoft... That's not... He's... Wasn't he...?" Josu couldn't form the thoughts corectly. Jaden was killed wasn't he? Turned to the dark-side, then killed. It was like seeing a ghost.
Jon:There was a wave of dread as the doors opened. Jaden had come to terms with people being surprised he wasn't actually dead, but he wasn't ready for the look Josu had given him. Jaden maintained his posture, yet inside he felt his blood being squeezed from his body. "Jaden..." Josu repeated herself; Malin apparently didn't tell her. Jaden felt his hand reach for the flask again, but he stopped as he remembered he emptied it already. Jaden sensed the feelings from everyone in the room, and they all shared an uneasy feeling just as he entered the room, but Josu emitted such an aura, he might have thought her heart was plucked from her chest. Quickly turning his gaze away from her, Jaden felt he had to do something before she had a heart attack. "Master Malin, its...its good to see you..." His eyes wandered back to Josu, but she was gone.If you've ever had a birthday get cut short by a rainy day, then you'd have an idea how Michael had felt at that moment, only with a hurricane to back it up. Michael watched as Josu had stormed out of the Main Hall, and how everyone stared at...that...guy.... "!" Michael spazed, <CHIBI> "YOU"RE THAT FREAKY GUY FROM THE TRANSPORT!!!"
Joanna:Tallia watched Josu walk away from her assumed positiion. She thought about fallowing her but decided to let the woman take a few moments to herself. Nobody even told her that Jaden was alive, so this must have been a huge shock. The younger boy, Michael, he seemed disappointed to watch Josu leave. Tallia sighed. She felt something of what was going through Jadens emotions and had decided that she was surrounded by hopelessly emotion-driven children.
---
Malin grinned warmly at Jaden. She was relieved that he had made it to Courescant safelly. "Jaden! Welcome back." She walked foreward and wrapped the young man in a warm, motherly embrace when a familiar aroma invaded her sences, "Jaden. Have you been drinking?" She pulled out the bottle that the Jaden had hiden in his robes as if to answer her own question.
---
Josu walked down the hall closest to the main hall. She didn't want to go too far, she couldn't run away from the truth, but she needed time to absorb what she had just seen. Jaden was alive. He was alive and noone had told her. He had been her best friend and nobody thought to tell her that he was alive. Maybe, they thought she would chase him, try to find him... at the time of his turning she probably would have, thinking she needed to finish what she had started. That was a long time ago. Eight years had passed and Josu could see the danger in that. The male jedi(sith at that time) would have been pissed that she had tried to kill him, and would probably have looked to revenge as the answer. The jedi sighed and muttered to herself, "Why?" One word for many questions. Josu pivoted on her right foot and began her walk back. She had walked far enough and needed to face what was going on. She turned the corner back into the main entrance and was welcomed back by a rather ramused looking black-haired Zabrak.
---
"Welcome back. Your walk was short." There was laughter hidden in her voice, invoking Josu to ask, "What's going on?" She searched the (technically in terms of training) elder jedi's face which was wearing a small grin. "Your new padawan apparently walked in intoxicated. Your going to have a tough one on your hands." Josu nodded and looked at Master Drasoft, who was holding a silver flask accusingly at Jaden, "I might have to agree with you there."
Jon:Jaden retrieved his flask with a wave of his hand and returned it to his pocket. He looked at Master Malin with a light grin and smirked, "I once thought alcohol to be a poison, but when you get those unwanted memories..." Jaden patted on the pocket containing his flask, "it comes in handy." Malin's kind smile fadded. Jaden had known that Master Malins smile was one hard to get rid of, but Jaden's last comment took it from her like a blade of grass in a storm. "I'm sorry, it really is good to see you." Jaden embrased her in a warm hug, his way of showing, that he was truely back from the dead, and his nightmare was gone from the world. Well, mostly anyway. Jaden backed up and saw that Malins smile had returned. "Now then, what exactly has the council decided about my well being?"
---
Michael looked at the mysterious man he had met on the ship, apparently his name was Jaden. Michael couldn't help but wonder what he had just witnessed. Apparently Jaden was the same as he, a padawan. Yet, he had sensed a rain of emotion emitting from both Josu and Jaden, it was obvious to see that there was some history between them.
Joanna:Tallia sighed and muttered something to Josu that made her blush and giggle slightly. Malin glared at the two untill the chatter almost obsolete. She then turned to Jaden, "Well, the council decided that, due to your recent... vacation, you would be paired with a Jedi Knight as their Padawan," She waved Josu forward, "and seeing as how you already have a history together, Master Josu was chosen to be your new... Guardian."
~
Josu looked at Malin, wondering if this was the right thing. She felt like a padawan all over again; confused, disturbed, and curious. Josu shoved these feelings aside, however, and looked Jaden straight in the eye with a little difficulty. Only a year ago, Josu had tried to banish the life from thoughs eyes. Thoughs deep, hypnotizing brown eyes...
Jon:Jaden was set back by Malins last statement. "Master? Guardian?" he thought. Over a year ago, they were partners as equals, now she's in charge? Understood it would be best to have someone keep an eye on him. Then again, he wouldn't blame them if they decided to lock him up for the rest of his natural life, especially after what he did. However, of all the Jedi they could have put in charge of him, Josu? Why not Tallia, even through her annoying jittery girlishness annoys the hell out of him, he'd prefer. To make Josu his Master was...cruel, both to him and her. Jaden was staring at Josu, and though she wore a rather confused and sorrowed look on her face, she was still...but he couldn't just let this stand. He turned to Malin, "Master I'm inclined to ask for a replacement." Jaden's words shook up Josu a bit, as well as everyone else.
---
Michael stood behind Master Malin as he thought to himself, "Wow, some really BIG shit must have happened if he wouldn't want her as a master." He'd just arrived and already he was having issues develop. He felt out of place, he knew nothing Jaden, but he aimed to find out, though, this wasn't the time, and right now he was more of a nuisance at the time being. "Excuse me Master," he stepped the side of Master Malin, "I'll...just be going to my quarters...if thats alright."
Joanna:Malin noddes at Michael, "If you need any help just ask anyone. They'll be happy to help. Meet me in the courtyard in two hours okay?"
~
There was a presure in Josu's chest at the thought of Jaden with somebody else. Nobody knew him like she did. She would be the only one to predict him and keep him on the straight and narrow, "Oh no you don't, Jaden. You don't go against the councils wishes, no matter what. We learned that with Vaders turning. If the Council decided this then it must be for the best." Also, since she knew he was alive, a little bit of her, that she had never fully acnowlaged, didn't want to give him up.
~
Tallia walked off behind Michael, muttering about bad blood.
Jon:Now Jaden was facing Josu, this time he was shocked. Its true he was comparable to Vader, but... "Josu...I know after what I did, to you, to...you shouldn't trust me." Jaden moved about 3 inches in front of her. "But before you make up your mind about following the council's orders, YOU tell ME, that you're fine with this, that you're OK, with being this close to me." Josu stayed silent this time. "I've got "it" under control this time." Jaden didn't want to hurt her again, being around her was enough to do that, but right now it was her call.
Joanna:Josu set her jaw firmly and narrowed her eyes, still focusing on Jaden's chocolate orbs. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and it disgusted her, made her remember that night. "I know how to deal with you. Who else would be able to have taken your flask away?" She held the hand-sized tin victoriously in front of Jaden, a playful smirk on her face, challenging him to take it from her. The Jedi Knight pocketed the flask when Jaden didn't respond. "I want you to find your quarters and report th the main Courtyard in two hours. We will be training with Master Drasoft and Michael." Suddenly realizing she may be imposing she turned to the elder Jedi and added, "If that is OK with you of course."
~~
Malin Nodded, the ends of her Leku bobbing, "Of course, it is fine. The more the merrier."
Jon:Jaden was marveled that she was able to take the flask from him without him even realizing it, he didn't show it though. "As you wish, Master." Jaden spoke with sincerity when he said it. Still, Josu scoffed at his reply. He took a step back and turned to the door. "And Josu..." Jaden stopped in front of the door as the door hissed open, but he didn't face her this time, "its...its good to see you." Then he left, the door slowly closing behind him. As Jaden moved towards where his old quarters would be, a smile grew on his face, "How the hell did she do that?"
---
Michael stepped into the quarters he was assigned, the room was quiet, a stale smell lingered in the air. Nobody had been in their for some time. There were two beds on opposite sides of the room. One side was clean and neat, must have been his side. He threw his bag on the bed and sat at the edge as he peered over to the other bed. That side was occupied with, supposedly another jedi's, attire and belongings. Their was a photo up on the wall facing the door. Michael stood and moved closer to examine. There were 5 people in the photo grouped up. Malin was easily identified in the back with her arms on the shoulders of two of the three children in the photo, two boys. Also in the back was Tallia, a little younger in the photo so it wasn't recent. She had one hand on the shoulder of the little girl in the group, along with a pair of bunny ears over her head and her tongue sticking out. The three kids were bunched together with their arms around each other. Michael looked curiously at the girl...Josu. Meeting Josu just a few minutes ago had her face fresh in his mind and it was easy to identify her as the girl in the photo, only she looked about 10 easily. He then looked at the two boys...wait...the one on the outside was...Jaden. So they were friends growing up together to become Jedi, that explains some of the history. But, whos the one in the middle...the door behind him snapped open and Jaden walked in.
Joanna:Malin looked at the young woman infront of her. Never before had she seen Josu act in such an authoritative manner. The red-head had always been more of a free willed indevidual. Doing what was asked but not always by the books. Something about Jaden's return had opened a new window into Josu's mind. It was cloudy and hard to dicern what was on the other side, but Malin got the gist of it. "Be carefull. Don't fall for him Josu." The Master placed a scarlet hand on the Knight's shoulder and let it rest there, trying to convey her worry about the situation.
~~
Josu frowned at the wall, not meeting Malin's eyes and silence is all that greated Malin's concerned warning. This wasn't right. The council couldn't be right about this. It just... wasn't fair... So why had she accepted Jaden as her Padawan? Why hadn't she fought for Michael to be her student?
Jon:Jaden didn't pay any mind to Michael and threw his belongings on the floor and fell into his bed, quickly closing his eyes as if to take a nap. Michael hadn't left the picture but he stared at Jaden, baffled, to think this guy was a jedi? "So," Jaden spoke, his eyes still shut, "you're Michael right?" Michael studied him for a second, "Yeah, and you're Jaden." Jaden sat up and swung his legs over the edge of the bed. "Yep, and I guess we're both padawans." Jaden smirked. Michael shared the smile, excited he was here again, ready to become a jedi. "Let me see your saber." Michael was hesitant. "You DO have a saber made don't you?" Michael scoffed. "Sure, but let me see yours then." Michael produced his saber, he made it from scratch in his old workshop at home. Jaden reached into his robe and produced his. Then Jadens saber floated gently toward to Michael. "Force..." Michael whispered. As the saber fell into his other hand, his own saber flew out of his hand and into Jadens. Jaden studied the thing as if it were a book, "Basic design, slight modifications at the base, nice craftsmanship..." Jaden activated the saber, producing a blue shining glow extending 3 and a half feet. "the beams extended and yet balanced." Jaden deactivated it and smiled. "You've got some talent in mechanics." Michale looked at Jaden and thought to himself, "He just dissected my saber with his eyes, he IS a jedi." Michael looked at the one in his hands and was stunned. The saber Jaden had given him was...beautiful, sharp, he moved his thumb to activate it and produced something he'd never seen before. The saber glowed not just blue, but green as well. The colors danced like lightning but the saber held itself perfectly. Deactivating it he looked up at Jaden, "You're no slouch yourself."
Joanna:Malin sighed and lightly flicked the tip of Josu's nose. Josu jumped a little, not used to this tiny sign of affection anymore, and smiled. It brought back a happier time. One without as many worries. "Go and get yourself some rest. You will be expected to instruct someone in two hours did you forget?" Josu smiled, a light chuckle escaping her throat and she met Malin's eyes. "Don't worry about me Master Drasoft. I am fine." Josu started to walk down the hall and Malin walked beside her. Disbeliefcrossed the gracefully aged features of the Twiilek Master and she faced Josu, "So is that why you took off so quickly when Jaden arived?" Josu blushed and feigned a taken-aback expression. "What? I did nothing of the sort!" Josu laughed. She was at ease, now that there was noone to be tense to.
Jon:Michael and Jaden returned each others lightsaber, this time by simply handing it to each other. Michael holstered his and then held out his hand, "I guess we'll be training with each other huh?" Jaden took Michael's hand and gave it a sqeeze, but he noticed there was something...peculiar about his hand. "Yeah guess we will." Jaden replied. Michael brought his hand back and folded his arms, he wanted some answers, "So...that's you in the photo?" Jaden nodded. "Were you a Jedi already once?" Again, Jaden nodded. "But you're a padawan now why? Did get in trouble or something." Michael joked, but he felt a rather big disturbance in the force. Unlike from what he had felt from Jaden before, he felt a choking rage emit from him, like pure anger. Jaden swung his legs back up and laid on his bed, "You want to know about me, you start telling me how you lost your arms." Jaden spoke coldly. Michael felt the blood rush from his face, "This guy is scary." he thought. With just a handshake, he could tell Michael's arms were artificial.
Joanna:"Realy Josu. What is the matter?" Malin was concerned. Josu could feel it and that ment she had to answer. Master Malin usually masked extreme emotions but the fact that Josu could feel Malin's concern made it all the more intence. Josu ran a hand through her shoulder length hair and looked at the ceiling as she walked, hand still in her hair. After a few moments of silence she slowly answered, "Yes it is Jaden... I... I don't understand it myself..." Josu's face had fallen from it's previous laugh and was sadly contemplative.
Jon:Michael turned around and dropped himself on his bed, his ordeal with his arms wasn't a pleasant one to bring up. Then again, this guy probably knew that, so whatever was the reason he was gone, had to be pretty bad. Michael had sensed Jaden's aura since he walked into the temple and memorized what he felt, with this he could tell two things about Jaden. One, he was truly a nice guy, two, there was something he did, something terrible, that makes him feel unbearable guilt.
---
Jaden laid with his eyes closed, trying to get some rest before having to see Josu again. He felt bad, he was a little harsh on the kid, then again, the kid was just a few years younger than he was. I'll make it up to him later, he thought. Josu...she was in pain the whole time he was there. Jaden wanted nothing more than for things to be the way they used to be, when they were happy together. Just the three of them, him, Josu,...and Drake. Jaden rolled over and drifted into sleep.
Joanna:Malin stoped and crossed her arms, "Well?" Josu realized, after a quick scan of where they were, that they were just outside her quarters. Josu bit her bottom lip and grabed Malin, dragging her into the neat little room. There were books and papers littering the terminal in the corner but other then that the room was clean of clothing and othe rmischelanious littering possibilities. Nick-nacks lined the shelves from the multiple planets she had been to. Malin was watched Josu cros the room and sit on her bed. The Twiilek leaned against the wall and watched Josu on her perch. "I didn't know I missed him that much." The hair that had sheilded Josu's eyes from Master Drasoft parted and revealed confusion and panic. "I didn't even know I missed him at all!"
Jon:Jaden felt himself drift into a dream, conscious of who he was, buy not what his mind was playing before him. There were nothing he could see but his own body floating in a dark space. There were voices around him, familiar voices. Malin. Tallia. Josu. Drake. All of them yelling his name, shadows of their faces appeared before him, but thats all he could make out, the rest they mouthed in silence. He heard Drakes voice once more, then felt something warm touch his face. He wiped at it, and looked at his fingers, blood. "No..." Jaden felt panicked. "Not again." A shrieking voice echoed in his ears. "NO!" Jaden was in histeria, he realized the event playing in his mind. Suddenly, pain erupted in his chest, he looked down and saw a blue lightsaber sizzling in his right rib, the hilt not 2 inches from his body. He looked up, and saw his killer, a crying, terrified, Josu. As Jaden fell from his dream, his whispered two words, "I'm...sorry..."
Joanna:Two hours had passed since Jaden and Michael had arived at the Temple. Two hours and thirty minutes to be exact. Josu had appologized to Malin and Michael, then, finnally, to Tallia who wanted to watch the "fun", before going to fing Jaden. She entered his room and saw him lying on his bed, strong frame twitching. A bad dream. Josu, in that one moment, seeing his tortured face and hearing the silent "no"s felt bad for him. She wanted to hold him, to comfort him... to... But she couldn't not after what he did. Insted, she kicked his bed to shake him awake. "Jaden get up! Your late!"
Jon:Jaden awoke from his nightmare from the sudden nudge and Josu's yelling. As he looked at her, he still saw the crying girl, then he came to his senses and looked at her with annoyance. "That any way to wake somebody!" He stood up and faced the clock, then he felt embarrassed, he WAS late. "Eh...sorry." He stopped at those words, remembering his dream. He faced her with a rather dismayed face, then he gave a weak smile, "So, who started complaining first, Malin or Tallia?"
Joanna:Josu looked blankly at Jaden, "It was Tallia. Not that it matters much. Come, we are half an hour behind Master Drasoft and her Padawan." Josu turned to walk out the door then stopped in the frame, looking back at Jaden. Why did she have this fire in her chest right now? Josu wanted to pin it up to rage, but did rage make you feal more... well more? Realization crossed her face as she finnaly pin-pointed the feeling and she stormed out of the room, not entirely caring if Jaden fallowed or not. If he fallowed, she would train him. If he didn't, she would go to the council and ask for a Padawan transfer... if that was possible. It alll was in his hands. It always seemed to be that way.
Jon:Jaden hesitated for a second before running after Josu. Though Jaden was running, she was still gaining distance from him. She obviously didn't like seeing him. At the pace they'd been moving they quickly arrived at the Main Courtyard where Malin, Michael, and Tallia were waiting for them. Jaden gave a low chuckle to Malin to express his apologies. He moved toward Michael and threw an arm around him as he growled in his ear, "Why didn't you wake me dumbass!" Michael looked at him apologetically, "I tried, but you kept rolling over and mumbling in your sleep." Jaden released his hold on his neck and sighed. "Sorry...I was having a bad dream." Michael patted him on the back, "Its ok." He was excited to start his training. Jaden looked over at Josu, she was standing with Master Malin and Tallia. Jaden still had his dream fresh in thought. It was a reoccurring dream he often experienced once or twice a week. It was never plesent, now was it ever better. Jaden then thought about how times were in the old days when they all began their training as jedi, where now Josu was training him to become one again. Maybe this WAS for the best, maybe this could help bring them back together. Though, nothing would bring Drake back...
Joanna:Tallia scoffed from her seat at the edge of the courtyard. "Finally the Princess is here!" The Zabrak adjusted herself from her lazy lounging to a strict seated positon, ready to watch the goings on. Josu stood next to Malin and waited.
Jon:Jaden turned to Tallia. This was the first time he talked to her since he got back, and as expected, she was still childish brat. "Yes Tallia, nice to see you too. Still got that piece o' shit lightsaber?" Jaden felt he had struck back at her, now it was on.
Joanna:Tallia bristled. Nobody called her light-saber a piece of shit other then herself! "Yes I do, Jerk-wad! But at least I haven't killed any-" "Tallia, that is enough!!" Josu was angry, she knew what Tallia was going to say, but it wasn't her that spoke, it was Malin, and she was infuriated. "I want you to leave us Tallia, until you can control your temper." The Zabrak looked as if she was going to say something but she thought better of it, bowed respectfully, and went inside. Probably to read or watch from higher up. Josu sighed and released her stress, "Perhaps, Masted Drasoft, Jaden and Michael could do with the Code of the Jedi right now." Malin, who was rubbing her forehead nodded. "Yes, I agree full-heartedly."
Jon:Tallia's last comment was uncalled for, but she was right. Jaden let his anger exit his mind through deep breaths. "Heh, the Code of the Jedi, haven't heard that in a long time." He turned to Michael, "Hey, memorize what they're about to tell us. You'll do better if you do." He looked to Josu, she was stressed in just the first minutes of their training. "Well, Master, are you going to give us the short or the long version?" Jaden gave a warm smile, hoping to relieve some of her stress.
---
"Alright, pay attention." Michael thought. He listened to Jaden's suggestion and readied his ears for Master Malin. He had heard of the Code before, but never knew what it was.
Joanna:Josu shook her head, closed her eyes, and smiled. Jaden had asked the same question when they had been kids just learning the Code themselfes. There was only one version, according to Master Malin, and he knew it. It was just childishly cute to hear him ask that question again. Malin answered when it became apparent that Josu wouldn't, "There is only one version Jaden. Do you remember any of it?" Josu's head shot up as an idea came to her, "I say we quiz him." Anything to annoy him in the slightest. Josu looked at Malin who grinned and nodded at the 'great idea' and Josu turned to Jaden , "Okay, I will say part of a line from the Jedi Code and you will repeat it." Josu sat cross-legged, fallowed closely be Malin, and motioned for the padawans to fallow suit. "Now, Jaden; 'There is no emotion...'"
Jon:...There is Peace." Jaden replied with confidence, "There is no Ignorance..." Jaden was then challenging Josu. Meanwhile Michael listened to the Code and imprinted it on his memory.
Joanna:Josu's brow furrowed. Jaden was the one being 'quizzed', not her, "There is knowledge. Something, it seems you may be lacking. I forgive you, though, you were out for a year." A smirk played on her face, and she continued before the Twiilek at her side could say anything, "There is no passion..."
Jon:"Ouch, that one hurt", Jaden thought, "Guess she's feeling more relaxed then." He smiled and continued with the quiz. "There is Serenity..." Though you don't always show it, he thought to himself to save him her undoubted wrath had he said that out loud. He stuffed out a laugh at the thought of it.
Joanna:Josu realized just how contradictory she was acting, saying the code and yet, going against it to some degree. She sighed, and continued, "There is no Chaos..."
Jon:"...There is harmony." Though we never had a moment we didn't argue. Especially when is came to the location to spend our breaks. Jaden never won once, though, Josu did have good taste. He was glad, he could still remember the smile she carried with her at those times.
Joanna:The red-head looked Jaden straight in the eye, something she had hope dto avoid as long as possible. This last bit she recited as more of a comfort to herself then as a continuation of the quiz that she was giving Jaden. "There is no death..." She told herself that every night, tried to convince herself that Drake was with her in some little way. Master Malin had said that as long as you remember the deceased that they stay with you and can help when you need them. She would have experiance of all people.
Jon:Jaden met Josu's eyes, this last part of the code did have meaning for both of them. Funny, to think I had been dead once. "...There is only the Force." There was silence for a moment. Jaden turned to Michael, "Catch that?"
---
Michael stood straight and recited, "There is no emotion, there is Peace. There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge. There is no Passion, there is Serenity. There is no Chaos, their is Harmony. There is no Death, there is only the Force." Michael exhaled as he had been holding his breath. He smiled widely and looked at the others.
Joanna:Malin grinned and ruffled her padawans hair. "That's very good Michael! Be sure that you don't forget it. The Code is the core of a Jedi's training and is a reoccuring factor. If you ever find yourself about to give into temptation, just recite it to yourself and think about its meaning to you." She gave a pointed look at Josu who decidedly looked at the ground. Their earlier discusion about Jaden hadn't ended well. Josu had confesed just how conflicted she was about Jadens return and Master Drasoft had given her the age old lecture of temptation and the dark side; examples included.
~~
Tallia had resorted to sitting in the archives, skimming what was saved from the old Jedi Order. There were documents, employee listings, and breif security clips; one clip in particular caught her eye. It was a class of younglings being taught by a handsome young man. A scar ran down his face, bu tdid not hinder the smile he gave to a young Twiilek who seemed more then eager to learn. The girl seemed familiar to Tallia, and she was determined to find out who it was and if she were still alive. Tallia happened by this footage a few years back and she was no closer to finding out the eager childs name now then she was back then.
Jon:Jaden was impressed with Michael as well. Remembered the whole thing after one introduction, and not even a good introduction to the Code. Well, he'd be a fast learner, and maybe he could teach the kid a few things as well. A few do's and...do not's...like pissing off Tallia and Josu for one.
---
Michael was honored by the compliment on his first day. "Thank you Master, I will." He clapped his hands together and smiled, "Sooooooooo...whats next?" He was excited to learn more in the ways of the jedi.
Joanna:~The afternoon dragged on with drills and the history of the Jedi, from Malins memory and from documents recovered over the years. Famous names, such as Mace Windu and Darth Revan, came up breifly but, even though history was discussed, Malin avoided any questions about her own past. ~
Josu stretched after sparring Michael. Malin had decided that would be the arangements and it was probably the smart thing, or a little over protective on her part. Training was over and Malin had left with Michael to find Tallia, leaving Josu and Jaden in the courtyard alone save for a few lone Jedi wandering about. Josu glanced at Jaden and couldn't help the slight blush that flowered on her cheeks, only visible to thoughs who knew what to look for.
Jon:Jaden felt...uneasy around Josu alone, happy yet sad at the same time. However, he wished more than anything to be happy around her again. He stared at her and smiled, "New kid is pretty handy with a lightsaber, then again, I noticed you'd perfected your Vapaad technique." Jaden was honest as he tried to lighten the mood, though he was still disappointed in being unable to spar the kid himself.
Joanna:Josu nodded and grinned, "I've had alot of time to do so. I still have things to work on, however." The new Master sat on a nearby bench and motioned for Jaden to sit next to her. She was slightly worn out from the day and the sparing, so she was in no mood to continue barading Jaden with snaps and comments. "You are a little rusty though." She bent her head and shook it. A weak grin crossed her face as she silently enjoyed the peace she felt at the moment.
Jon:"Rusty?" Jaden grinned as he took his seat next to her leaning his knees. "Well, I guess its possible even I could lose somewhat of my edge, but it won't take long for me to get it back," Jaden nugged her with his elbow, "Specially with you bossing me around." Jaden gave a small chuckle as he started twirling one of his lightsabers in his palm.
Joanna:Josu placed a hand on her padawans head and shoved, a grinn crossing her lips as she silently enjoyed the feel of his hair and the fact he could do nothing bad about the shove, "You killled my serenity." Bubbles of laughter eminated from her throat and she glanced over at the man sitting next to her. Indeed he was a man. Only one year gone and he looked so differant and yet he was the same.
Jon:"My dearest apologies master..." Jaden said teasing her further. "A smile on your face is when you are truly you, a frown only hides the girl I knew a year ago." Jaden looked deep into her eyes. He now spun his lightsaber along the rim of his index finger and thumb, moving with much grace.
Joanna:"A year is a long time to change someone." Josu kept her gaze on Jaden, analyzing his every move. "You don't seem to have changed much.
Jon:Jaden tossed his lightsaber up in the air and caught in the palm of his hand, keeping his eyes on only her. "And what is it of me that hasn't changed exactly?" Jaden smiled at her.
Joanna:wrist and shoulder muscles tensed as Josu leaved back on her hands, face turned foreward and away from the padawan sitting at her side. She had to remind herself that he was her student, there was no room for anything further then education. "You are strong willed, easilyoffended, and extremely competitive." A knot formed in her stomach, blocking regular pathways for air to enter and leave her body. eye lids went slac, covering half of the emeralds taking in the surroundings.
Jon:Jaden leaned forward to try to catch her eye, he could see the restraint in her voice. "...That all? Well let me say what hasn't changed about you. You're a cheerful and warm hearted woman, but you're also stubborn and you always have to stick with the rules." He smiled and hooked his index finger around her chin to turn her eyes back to him. "We're Master and Padawan, but I don't want this to be only that, I want to be relaxed with you again, I want make you laugh and drive you nuts,...I want you to be able to forgive me."
Joanna:Angry embers faltered, then continued to smolder. Feelings were pushed aside as the woman sighed matter of factly, "Jaden. Not now. Not here" Her voice was worn and seemed almost tired of saying that, although the words had escaped her mouth only once. Tanned cloth rippled around her ankles as Josu stood, "Come," There was a smile on her lips that didn't quite reach her eyes, "You must be hungry."
Jon:As if her words commanded his stomach he heard his stomach quake in desire. He chuckled to himself. He stood and threw back the lower end of his robe and holstered his lightsaber. "Cafeteria food or maybe you want to go the the usual place?"
~Well, that is the original collection of posts. We, the same RPers as above are continuing from where this leaves off.~
The ship shuttered.
