I found myself at the steps of the Temples in the High Mountains of China, my cloths were changed into commoner rags. Simon was gone, this was my training, I couldn't have him babysitting me. And so, I made my 2 hour journey hiking up those stairs, a feat I could barely stand after 2 minutes of, yet everytime I thought of my purpose, I pushed forward. As I approached the gates, I was greeted by 2 monks in what I knew to be robes that represented their Mastership. I bowed to them, and like what Simon said, there were things I already knew that were surfacing, I knew Chinese all of the sudden, I was welcomed in...and my training began...

25 years I spent with that temple, honed my body to a level I hadn't known possible, I was fast, strong, and agile, yet I hadn't aged a day. I left the temple, and my training continued elsewhere, 25 years training under the Ninja, 25 years with the Samurai, 25 years with the Legendary Spartans, I honed myself for a hundred years, and I had learned more possible than any ONE man could learn in his lifetime. I had dedicated myself to close quarters combat for those years, learning the ways of the sword, stealth, defensive tactics, and truly mastering my body. All in the time there, I was mastering my powers; I healed wounds on my body that would have killed me twice over, I learned to create the finest weapons to the world and inovative weapons including a metal staff with two pointed ends that I had utilized in a number of battles I took part in over the 100 years, and I learned how to utilize my ability to fly without effort. Yet, I still had 150 years left, and I needed to get some technology on my side still, I needed battle experience in the modernworld, I needed to learn pain. In the next hundred years I did just that, I spent 25 years with the Israeli Special Forces and fought hundreds of campaign battles. The next 15 years I spent learning from the Apache Tribes, with whom I learned the ways of the land, how to fight like them, and satisfied a personal hate I had for the Union Soldiers who invaded. The next 25 years were rather special, with Simons help, I was able to isolate myself with vehicles, planes, bombs, I spent the next 25 years scanning them, molding their components to my memory. After that I spent 25 years along side, though to my discomfort, with the great minds of Lexcorp, I did the light and easy work assisting them, stealing the ideas the worked on including armor technology, scanners, I even learned a method they had devised to enhance steel quality about 200 percent, a handy thing for me to add to my blades. However the steel wasn't nearly strong enough for my needs, the steel was solid and I could make a Japanese Steel Katana able to cut through even high quality armor, I needed something that could handle the abnormally strong monsters in this world. There was one comment that one of the designers of the steel told me when I asked if we could make something stronger, "Not unless you can shape a diamond.", that comment stuck with me for a while. Before I left Lexcorp, there was something else of value I found, something that would help me deal with a particular difficulty that could arise, a little green rock. As I made my leave from Lexcorp, I decided I had better learn how to take unbearable pain, I spent 10 years in a Vietnam POW camp, I regretted my choice, as I screamed and moaned for those 10 years, only able to find courage in wanting to avenge my family. 50 years left, it was almost torture to live this long, and I had been training every day, my body, still as young as when I had sat in that chair, had grown lean and strong and fit. 50 years left and I had all the skills I needed, so in the next 50 years, I would get myself fitted for combat

I found myself in a mine quarry deep in the African Desert, I collected metals other materials to build into my equipment. I transferred it all to that same desert that Simon had brought me to 200 years ago. I absorbed energy again, this time I didn't hold back, I absorbed all the energy around me for a mile, a task that took up 10 minutes and left a mile wide patch of frozen sand. I couldn't stop there though I had to hurry and mold the material I had brought with me. The glowing energy seeped into the materials and glowed brightly, I morphed the material into the designs I had collected over the years. But I met many failing creations. Simon watched me through the next 5 years trying to design the perfect armor for myself. Finally I was finished, I had made myself a shed to house myself those 5 years and now my armor rested on my workbench. A combination of steel plates, loose fitting fabric, and a helmet with technology I stole from Lexcorp, giving me nightvision, thermal vision, and allowed me to have eyesight as good as an eagles. The next 15 years I designed weapons, I came up with 1000+ different designs of weapons, only 7 of which satisfied my needs. 1 in particular that I treasured as the greatest sword ever created, a sword made of diamond, the hardest material in the world, never before able to be shaped into a blade until then. The Sword was stronger and sharper than anything I encountered in 200 years. Now I had to test it, and I knew just where, when, and whom I could test that with. A man who in my time called himself, Shining Knight.

I was in what is modern day England, sometime in the Darkages. I wore the cloaks of a peasant on; I had Simon guide me to time when Shining Knight had fought in battle. I was at the top hill that overlooked a valley miles wide of tall green lush grass, the air was clean and pure. A trumpet sounded behind me, I looked behind me and saw two standing armies, one side waving a flag of yellow and red with a Griffin in the center, the other side was an army with a raggish black flag with what appeared to be a demon. The army with the griffin were knights and soldiers, donned with armor and were numbered in the thousands; I couldn't see Shining Knight in the midst. The army with the demon, were consisted of barbaric looking men, I could see that a few were even ogre's; their numbers were in the tens of thousands. It was clear which side Shining Knight was on. Shining Knight was looking for a particular Ogre at this time, one who had killed a friend of his, whom he had vowed to avenge. The battle was ready to begin, the black army was preparing to charge and I could see the knights preparing archers. Now, Simon told me I didn't have to worry about affecting the Space Time Continuum, because everything I had been doing in the past, had happened before I was even born or even knew I was going to embark on such a task. So I was aloud to fight in this battle, and test out my armor and equipment, I'd finally get a real test of how much I had grown over the years. I channeled energy into my body, filling the small gaps in my energy reservoir and a little extra, the grass on top of the hill froze stiff, neither of the armies seemed to notice me. My armor and weapons had been stored in my body, so along with the 180 pounds I weighed, I had another 100 or so pounds extra inside me. I channeled the extra energy and donned my armor, a glowing gold light enveloped my body and soon I was encased in my armor. Essentially I was a cyborgish modern day knight with ninja like characteristics. I couldn't see anything in my helmet at first until its built in power source kicked in, then the helmets internal monitor turned on, which made it seem as if I wasn't wearing a helmet at all. I looked over the black army, they had shields of wood and bronze, crude swords, polearms, some hefted giant hammers. I had an assorted amount of weapons stored in me, I figured this would be a good a time as any to use my new sword. The black army charged, the knights fired a hail of arrows. The battle had begun. On my right shoulder I had the hilt and handle of sword at the ready, but no blade in it, that way I could make it a regular steel blade when I wanted to, to keep my ace a secret. I pulled out my handle and held in front of me with my right hand and placed my left over the end. I channeled the remainder of the extra energy I had stored up and formed my diamond blade into the handle in a golden glow, soon my sword was at its final form, a clear and pure Diamond Katana. I had to come up with a name for my sword though, it was only proper before using it in battle. I thought of a name to call it, "Cuore" the Italian word for heart, I was proud of the name, I looked at the battle now in full swing, the black army was starting to flank the knights. I charged in full speed, Cuore in hand.

My steps were silent to the sound of the raging armies, my low run inherited from the Ninja let me be practically invisible lest you were looking strait at me. Archers from the black army were raining arrows down on the Knights, I turned my sprint towards them. 30 of them, large filthy ogres, pulling back crossbows and unloading them on horsemen. My skills shifted to my time with the samurai, both hands took grasp of my sword and my steps went level and balanced, the first ogre didn't even see me, I slashed horizontally with enough force I would have thought to counter the beasts hide, I nearly slipped as the blade passed through the ogre with no resistance at all, as it fell into two large pieces, I moved faster, weaving from left to right of the row of archers, each swing more effortless than the last, as I made my way to the 15th, the rest noticed me and drew their swords. In a second I identified their craftsmenship, years with the samurai taught me how to do that. Their blades were made with dirty iron and had shapes which had no purpose than to scare people. The first ogre swung down on me, I side stepped to the right, my sword rolling off my left arm cutting deep through his mid section and severing his spine. My swing continued through, decapitating another to my right, and as I spun around and swung upward, I sliced another clean in half up the middle. A swing came from the corner of my eye, I ducked as the blade whistled past my helmet, I parried with him twice, then my sword sliced his in half, and I then thrusted him through the heart. All was quiet around me, as I looked around I was surrounded by the 11 archers plus another 5 swordsmen, I couldn't hear the battle because their bulking bodies were blocking it out. I looked at Cuore, it was red with blood, no nicks, sharp as ever even after going through almost 20 Ogres with armor and having severed a sword in half, its test was over. I absorbed Cuore and returned its scabard to my back. I needed a weapon now that could handle being surrounded. A weapon combo popped into mind for just such an occasion. I sent energy through my hands and extended a Staff, both ends needle sharp, I pulled another design in reserves, throwing knives at the ready to be developed in my hands. The Ogres seemed to be angry with me for killing them so easily, but the heasitated at my ability to create weapons out of thin air. My ears ached as they all charged in at me, roaring loudly, I was thankful i couldn't smell anything. I spun My staff around, and the blood shed continued.

The battle raged on for an hour, I lost count of how many had fallen before me, my stores of materials had been nearly depleted, I'd have to restock after. Soon only one Ogre remained, and at the sight of his defeat he had lost his mind to utter rage as his lips seeped foam. I formed one last throwing knife and threw it overhand from the blade, the blade turned 3 full rotations before embedding itself in the Ogre's skull, ending his last charge in a ragdoll like crumble. Then there was silence, in front of me were mounds of the Ogre's that I had killed, I turned around...and faced over a dozen spears, held by dozens of knights, backed by hundreds more, gore and dirt smeared their armor, "Um, I'm a friend here..." "WHAT SORCERER ARE YOU!" One of the knights shouted. I gave a sigh of annoyance, "I'm not a sorcerer, and my name isn't your concern. My power is nothing but a gift that the lord has given me." That line caused some aww and concern amongst the knights. "But all you need know is that I am your ally, and I'm looking for a Knight of Shining Armor. You may address me as Archangel." "Well, Archangel..." A voice came from behind and this time I faced a horse, a winged horse, and on top was the man I was looking for, Shining Knight, "What business do you have with me?"

Encased in my armor I felt somewhat safe, but with the remaining army of Knights and footmen AND with Shining Knight now staring at me with hostility...I felt a bit uneasy. I stared up at Shining Knight, "Before I do..." I jabbed my thumb over my shoulder. "You mind telling them to stop pointing things at me." All was quiet save the clinking of armor and shifting stances in the ranks. Shining Knight showed no expression, but he waved off the knights. "Thankyou...I-" Another horse came up through the ranks of soldiers carrying who appeared to be the Leader of the group, save Shining Knight that is. From what I knew, at this time, Shining Knight was a Lone Wolf, searching for the Ogre who killed his friend. He didn't command these men, but they surely respected him, thats why they had obeyed him there. The commander set his horse next to Shining Knights, "Who are you? And whats that power you used?"

"As I said a gift my name is Archangel and my power is from God." The commander gave me distrustful look, "Whats your buisness here, why did you help us..." I didn't have time for this, I walked passed his horse and motioned for Shining Knight to come with me. "How DARE you ignore me!" The commander drew his sword and pointed it at my back, Shining Knight had started to follow me, but stopped now. "I am Commander Alex Drake Darius, 4th seat to the royal family of England..." Royalty huh, what a pain. "I have set forth to exterminate all the beasts of the land, from the Ogres to the Gypseys." I stopped walking, he kept spatting out words of superiority to me, genocide, I turned around Shining Knight showed discust in his eyes, clenching his sword. The army I just help may have been fighting ogres, but it seems that they were led by a monster themselves. I stared at the commander through my helmet. "You will tell me of your power, so I can use it for our conquest!" I stood there for 4 minutes in silence, Simon told me that whatever happened with me had already happened. "So," I said, "You'll kill all who is weak and unbecoming? Is that right?" "Yes..." I heard enough. I poured energy into my hand and formed a Desert Eagle Custom, Glowing light shined brightly. The armies backed away from me fearing me. As the gun rested in the grip of my right hand, the commander looked at me puzzled, nobody knew what a gun was here. "You're unfit to lead anybody..." My finger pulled the trigger and the gun kicked in my hand letting out a solid crack and flash, the .50 caliber slug blew the commanders head of and splattered blood onto the armies, the commander fell off his horse, and once again, all was silent.

The armies had never seen a handgun, let alone a canon, they were baffled. Shining Knight obviously had no problem with what I had done, he didn't react on me aside from the confused wonder of the gun in my hand. The Knights readied their weapons again as to charge, I wouldn't have a meaningless blood bath, "YOUR COMMANDER LAY DEAD! CAN ONE OF YOU TELL ME WHY?" The army stood still, "Your commander would lay waste to villages of people simply because they are different. Why is different so bad? God made many people, of various kind, just as the land is not always the same nor are we. Just as the weather is not always the same neither are our beliefs. So do we burn the land if its cold, or forsaken it if its hot? No, we learn of it, and choose to live in it. We sew warm cloths to shield us and others from the cold, we dig troughs to let the water flow though the deserts. Just as we do this we should share the word of the lord, and if the people we wish to save do not accept it then its there choice, BUT, if they accept then we welcome them as our brothers and sisters. AND WHAT OF THESE OGRE"S!?" I motioned to the corpses around us. "You killed them because they were different? What gave you the right to attack them?" A knight stepped forward, "They are monsters! They attack our villages and eat our children!" The Knights errupted in cheer. "THEN WHY NOT DEFEND YOUR VILLAGES IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!" The knights grew silent, "I see noble men before me. Tell me, do you live in a big mighty castle?" Silence "Do you dine everyday and drink till you stomach aches? Do you sit and wait, until blood is already spilled and the people cry for help or pay for your service do you come out of your comfort?! Could you have been with the villages to defend them?" The knights seemed to reflect guilt, I was hitting the nail on the head. "Figure out why you fight before you go fighting," I pointed the barrel of my gun at the commanders corpse, "And if you follow man, know what he stands for! Is it for the best? For him? Do you agree? If not then follow a man who will lead you to be men of Integrity and Duty. You let your villages be attacked, had you been there you could have shown the ogres that the villages were to strong to be easy targets and would have saved the lives of the innocent, and yet you let it happen." I looked over at Shining Knight, "This man, is one of the Knights of King Arthur's Court himself, he defied even King Arthur himself when he had ordered the destruction of a small village, and he corrected Arthur's mistake." Shining Knight turned away, he didn't like being bragged about. "You all probably admire this man for his fame of battles, but it is not his strength and skill that made him famous, it is his valor and integrity. I look at him...and then I look at you, and I see children and cowards who can't think for themselves and remember what God said, instead of what a man said." The Knights stood still, the Knight who had stepped forward took off his helmet, followed my others. He stepped closer, "Did God send you here to stop us?" I smiled under my helmet, "If I am here, then God willed me to be here. I am here to teach you, but will you listen? Will you listen to the messages God is giving you, and will you act upon them?" The knight stood there, smiled, and faced his comrades. "Lets go home men!" The knights turned around and soon they were marching over the hills. I stood there with Shining Knight till they had left. I looked over the field of dead bodies, all dead, all for nothing...no, I was able to make it something, a mistake, a mistake to be remembered, and reflected. "Think my words helped them?" Shining Knight gave a slight nod, "You said what should have been said, what I should have told them myself." He seemed gloom, "I let my search for vengeance get the best of me." "Yes you did, but you know this now and will not let it happen again. Right?" "Ai" "You search for a monster who murdered a friend of yours, you chose justice upon this beast as per you moral and the way for you to honor your friend. God had a purpose in everything, you'll find this will have its purpose...in the future." I couldn't tell him anymore, he would find out soon enough though. Shining Knight dismounted his horse and stood in front of me, "So, what is it you needed to see me about?" The sword, thats right. "I need you to help me test something, you carry the greatest sword in the world short of Excalibur. I have crafted a sword unlike any other. I wish to test how well it matches up and to test that..." I absorbed the gun in my hand and grabbed the sword handle again and formed Cuore's blade. "I want you to spar with me."

Shining Knight dismounted his horse and approached me, his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "Do you wish to end my life?" "No." Jaden pressed the button under his chin and his helmet unfolded and collapsed into his armor, revealing my face. My hair was spiked from the moisture that had developed in my helmet, even though I had designed a natural AC in the helmet. "I have been on a long...very long journey. I've traveled to every corner of the earth, I've trained with the best of the world, and I've fought with the best. Now I've come to test how 200 years have honed my skills, and how my craftsmen-shift developed. Think of it as," I smiled, "A friendly spar." Shining Knight smiled and drew his sword, which flashed like silver and reflected no imperfections what so ever. Shining Knight pointed his sword at me, "100 strikes will suffice in a test, HAVAT THEE!!!" In a second Shining Knight was upon me, my heart pounded and heat flared in my arms. I spun Cuore, its diamond blade flashed and reflected the green landscape as I brought it up to block Shining Knights downward swing. My heart stopped when his sword hit, fearing the worst for my sword, a chip, a break. Shining Knights sword stopped dead and rung with the purest note. Now, Cuore actually wasn't pure diamond, it was actually mostly metal, in the shape of a Katana, it followed the Japanese craft having soft steel in the center and the outer shell was the actual diamond, here is where it would be fully tested. There was no ring in Cuore, it only made a single high toned hum that sent goosebumps up my back. My eyes scanned where the blades met, not a dent, chip, crack, scratch of any kind. Cuore, was perfect.

98, 99, 100...Exactly 100 strikes and Cuore was the same as it was before, perfect. Shining Knight and I were lightly winded after that light spar, and for the first time I actually saw Shining Knight smile. He sheathed his sword and I followed suit as he approached me, absorbing Cuore again. Shining Knight reached and placed his hand on my shoulder, he stood a good 8 inches taller than me. "Your blade is near equal to my own, well done. And I haven't fought one like you in all my years, your style is something not of this land. Where did you learn to fight?" I smirked at his question, "Everywhere." He cocked an eyebrow at me. "You are a strange warrior, I don't know your journey's goal, or why you have need for such a fine sword, but I hope we cross paths again when my quest is over and my deed complete." He mounted onto his winged horse. I only replied, "Oh...we will." Shining Knight batted his chest plate and took to the sky on his horse. It was a sight to admire, he was the closest thing to an Angel on Earth at the time. I frowned...in the future when Shining Knight joins the Justice League...he won't be on the same side as me, that day will be painful for sure, perhaps more for him. When I fought him, I felt a ting of fear, not of him but of myself. In 250 years I'd become something scary, because when I fought Shining Knight, I was holding back...

The last 45 years...the last 45 years were spent working out all the kinks in my fighting, and were spent on my education. It dawned on my that all I knew was how to fight and kill, God put me forth to bring about Justice, but also to heal. I spent my time in College, going from School to School in 4 to 8 year increments. I studied Math, English, Government, Medicine, Drama. I graduated 10 times, and 10 times I vanished just as I threw up my cap. I gave myself the education I never got all those years ago. Julie would be proud of me. With the education I have now I could have given Mikey a life he deserved. I stood in the shed I made in the desert, which I had developed into a full house after I graduated in Architect, finishing some final adjustments to my armor. 5 years left...it seemed so short after all I lived though. Was I ready? Yes...yes I was ready. "Simon!" In a flash Simon was in front of me just like he had for all the years I had called on him. "Yes, what is it Jaden?" "I need some advice, but you won't like it." "I'm beyond liking or disliking anything Jaden, ask me." "*SIGH* I need you to fight me...and I want you to try and kill me." Simon's face hardened, "I don't like it."

"Why do you want me to try to kill you? After all this training you want an Angel to fight you?" Simon was obviously confused. "Simon, I just fought one of the greatest hero's of Earths history...and I held back...after all I've done, I am unparrelled by any being...I need to know that's not true though." "Why?" "Because in what you told me, I'm allowed to follow my own path, do whatever I wish, but...I know too well how evil we humans can become...if my path sways I need to know someone can stop-" "JADEN!" I froze, his booming voice stunned me, such power. "You have been given this power, this chance, do you REALLY think the Lord would give you this less he knew you would do HIS work!?" 250 years...in all that time I forgot about who I was serving. Simon set my mind to rest, he wasn't mad at me, he just cut the bullshit and told me what I needed to know. The last 5 years...I spent studying the Good Book. Now...I had 1 hour left.

Simon brought me to that beach he took me to the first time I met him. Same tree too. "Jaden, you've mastered every one of the powers given to you, and you can harness the power of an Angel. You mastered the techniques of the world, and you have developed the weapons to carry you through. Congratulations." "Thankyou Simon, now, I have 2 favors of you." "Ask away" "First, take us to Kilarnies, that old pub me and..." We were there already, Simon wore regular human cloths like me, we were sitting at the bar. "Two Sam Adams and 2 Prime Ribs, Medium rare." Simon ordered for me. We sat there for a good half hour, unable to talk. I was running out of time when our food came. Simon went ahead and ate, I took one bite and paused, I needed to know. "Simon...where is my family?" Simon stopped cold. "Are they...you know...in Heaven." Simon looked at me with that stone face of his. "Jaden, don't panic when I say this, but...no." Panic was all that could come to mind, my training over the years allowed me to hold it in, but sweat condensed on my head. "You family, your wife and child, they aren't dead." I felt nauseous. "So...they weren't killed?" "No Jaden they were. At least half of them died any way. You see Jaden, God has that someone destined for each and every person, you found her once. He won't rob you of her for any longer than you have. She's living inside another vessel. She started her life again in another body on the same day her other life started. In your journey, you will not recognize her entirely, but it will be the same girl you love. However finding her will be the easy part." For the first time in 250 years I felt joy and antisipation, 20 minutes left. I resumed my meal, smile running ear to ear. "If its anything like when we first met...it will be holding on to her." Simon finished his meal and wiped his face and waited for me to finish. Soon my stomach was full. We talked about my adventure, laughed about times I had made a fool of myself in training, like when I first tried park-our with the Ninja and fell from the roof onto a fruit stand, broke a leg and arm. My Sensei scolded me but couldn't stop laughing at the sight of my fruit covered hair. 2 minutes left. "Well Jaden, this is good bye, you'll return to your seat soon, and it begins. I won't be able to help you anymore from now on." I held out my hand. He shook it. "Thankyou Simon." Then everything went black...
